Associations: Know Before You Dig

Associations:

Some of your property’s planned projects may affect underground utilities.  This is why the 8-1-1 service (or “Miss Utility”) is such a helpful thing!  The 8-1-1 service is a nationwide resource that is available for companies and individuals who plan to dig, demolish or perform work that may require underground excavation.  Miss Utility notifies local utilities of possible underground work and sends representatives out to mark any underground lines . . . all for free!

The following universal color code can be used to note underground utilities:

Electric – RED

Gas, Oil and Steam – YELLOW

Communications, Telephone and CATV – Orange

Portable Water – Blue

Reclaimed Water – Purple

Sewer/Drainage – Green

Survey Marks – Pink

Proposed Excavation – White
